Seminar: 22nd February 2006 Effective Overseas Aid: the potential for involvement |

Held Wednesday 22 February
at 3 pm at:
Royal
Veterinary College, Hawkshead Campus, the seminar was aimed particularly but not exclusively, towards students and newly qualified professionals, who would like the opportunity to work in developing countries for the welfare of animals and the benefit of the owners dependent on them.

These developed the themes of the opening speakers. There were contributions from people with experience in different overseas fields but at least as important
were the questions and views of all the participants.
Openings Overseas.
Chairman: Brigadier John Smales (ILPH)
Topics discussed: How to become involved, what to look for and to expect. How to raise funds and secure visas. Problems encountered. The rewards.
Overseas Project Management.
Chairman: Tony Stevens (TAWS)
Topics discussed: Fulfilling the TAWS objectives of improved management, health and efficiency through collaboration, investigation, advice and training. Recent projects
were cited as examples.
