TAWS 2010 Seminar (in association with The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust)

Pan-African Conference – Better Management, Improved Performance




Venue: Ocean Bay Hotel, Bakau, Gambia (optional extension to Sambel Kunda, Gambia)

 

Influential experts in the field gathered in The Gambia for the first Pan-African conference on working equines. Speakers and delegates from Gambia, Mali, Mauretania, Ethiopia, South Africa, Morocco and Sudan were present for this unique learning opportunity.

 

The conference programme consisted of presentations and discussions with two central themes of management and prevention. The two-day seminar was followed by an optional extension to the GHDT base where a further day and a half of practical demonstrations that enabled delegates to see some of the theory put into practice.

 

Itinerary:

19th March: Arrive

20th: Graduation of Animal Health Technicians at Gambia College

21st – 22nd March: Two day seminar

23rd March: Optional extension to Sambel Kunda

24th March: Demonstrations at Sambel Kunda

25th– 26th March: Further demonstrations at Sambel Kunda, return to Bakau on 25th and depart on the 26th: Option to stay on longer.
